The International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code) establishes the package applicable conditions for the safe transport of marine hazardous and polluting goods (including tanks/tank containers) and bulk solids.
Vehicles carrying dangerous goods on ferries (both international routes and in UK waters, e.g. to and from islands) must meet the requirements of the IMDG Code.
On the basis of the Un Orange Book Model Regulations, the IMDG Code is published by the International maritime Organisation (IMO) and is revised every two years.
